Hallowreck

Escape a haunted library of retracted papers. The Ghost Professor has a treat for everyone who makes it out.

Keyboard, touch or gamepad. Sound stays off until you turn it on.

How to play

Arrow keys or WASD fly. Space or Enter checks a reference and talks. On a phone, use the pad and the A button. P pauses.

Four floors of trouble: retracted papers that will not stay buried, references an AI made up, a paper mill in the basement and an archive full of ghosts. Fly Bit through with a lantern, check your sources, and find the way out.

What you will learn

  • Why retracted papers keep getting cited, and how to check a paper before you cite it.
  • How to tell a real reference from one an AI made up: look it up.
  • What paper mills are, and the tortured phrases that give them away.
  • The three parts of the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram.
