Billing, coupons and invitations
How paying works, where to manage billing and cancel, how coupons and invitation codes work, and what happens when a plan ends.
Paying
A paid plan is paid through a secure checkout run by the payment provider; the site never sees your card number. Plans are monthly or yearly. You get a receipt by e-mail.
Managing billing
On your account page, Manage billing opens the provider's billing page, where you can:
- change your card;
- see your invoices;
- switch plans where it is offered;
- cancel.
With some payment providers, cancelling ends the plan at the end of the period you paid for; the account page says when your plan ends.
Coupons and codes
- A coupon lowers the price; enter it on the Join page or at checkout. Some coupons last for the first period only, some for a number of months, some forever.
- A free or grant code gives a plan without paying, for a set time.
- An invitation brings you to the Join page with a plan already chosen.
When a plan ends
If a plan is cancelled, a payment fails for good, or a granted plan expires, you keep your account and your reviews, and what that plan gave stops. You receive an e-mail when a payment fails and when a plan ends. To continue, choose a plan again from your account page.
